Have you met Kelley Rose (she/they) yet? They are now available for haircut and treatment appointments in our Slabtown and Multnomah Village locations!
But come close for a sec and listen up, because you need to know this New Talent absolutely SPARKLES. And yes, we mean that both literally, because she wears a lot of sparkly things and we are absolutely in love with it, but also figuratively, because she’s got such a bright dang soul, welcoming demeanor, and genuine love of making others feel seen and appreciated. Like, you cannot leave Kelley’s chair without KNOWING you matter and are cared about.

Q: Tell us about yourself!
A: Hiiii, my name is Kelley Rose. I am obsessed with fairies, Hello Kitty, and all things cute—your typical Libra behavior. I live with my soulmate—my cat, Pebbles—and am soooo excited about being a first-time auntie to my niece, Nova, who’s almost one year old! I love art in any form, sweet treats, and laughing ‘til it hurts. My interest in the beauty industry was first sparked by being very involved in live theatre growing up. Being able to transform yourself on the outside has such a big impact on how you feel on the inside, and I am very passionate about empowering people and making them feel beautiful. It’s also super important to me that my clients feel comfortable and safe with me.

Q: What would your superpower be?
A: If I could have any superpower I would have the power of healing all beings from any ailments or diseases.

Q: What looks and styles are currently giving you all the sparkly feels?
A: I love giving curly cuts, shags, and personalized face framing. I am excited to do funky colors once I’ve completed our Color Apprentice program.

Q: Let's talk about our tagline'We don't just love hair, we love people.' How do you see Ginger & Maude being authentic to that and how do you bring it to life?
A: Ginger & Maude radiates our love for people every day and in every business decision. I am so proud to work for a company that prioritizes the health and well-being of the staff, the comfort and utmost respect for clients from all walks of life, and the highest quality of services.
The fact that we can achieve all this while still following B-Corp standards for sustainability shows how much we value Earth and all its living creatures, not just having fabulous hair—although that’s important too.
Ginger & Maude motivates me to be a safe space for my clients and coworkers by asking for/respecting pronouns, listening intently, and always having compassion for the shared human experience.

Q: If Hello Kitty was a hairstylist, what would she specialize in?
A: If Hello Kitty was a hairstylist she would specialize in blunt bobs, texturized fringe, and glittery hair tinsel.

Q: What's an interesting fact you think people should know about you?
A: I absolutely love learning about different cultures. I’m a li’l world traveler, having visited eight different countries! I lived in Denmark for three years attending school for art and music, and later I lived in Nepal for three months, in a small mountain village, Sermathang, in the Himalayas and then Kathmandu, teaching kids English and doing other volunteer work. It was the most culture shock I’ve ever experienced but unforgettably heartwarming and overall life-changing. I definitely plan on going back someday, but I will always hold those memories close to my heart.

Q: If you weren't a hairstylist, what would you love to do?
A: I would love to be an actress; I grew up doing nothing but musical theatre so it’s deep in my bones.
